This international festival of innovative dance films, curated by Bay Area artists, returns in its sixth edition to recognize imaginative collaborations among dancers, choreographers, and performing artists. This year's lineup includes the world premiere of "ALICE" created by Bay Area choreographer/director Robert Sund on Santa Barbara's STATE STREET BALLET in collaboration with David Bazemore. The 60-minute dance film is based on Lewis Carroll's stories of "Alice in Wonderland." Another highlight is The TRIAD Project, bringing together three choreographers (San Francisco Ballet dancer Corinne Blum, Cynthia Pepper and Melinda Darlington-Bach), three dancers, and three composers for an original dance film. Selections of dance films from Sesame Street™ will also be shown. Footage Dance Film Festival/2002 is funded by the Marin Arts Council, CITIBANK, Hornstein Law Offices, Camp Creative, Classic Plumbing and Union Bank of California. The choreographers/filmmakers invite the audience to a post-film discussion following each screening. This prestigious dance film festival is presented this year at The Rafael Film Center in San Rafael, and The Red Vic Movie House in San Francisco, and is the only one of its kind on the West Coast.
